N.E.S.T PROGRAM

We have exciting news concerning the 5U / 6U soccer program!!  The Director of Coaching (DOC) has been working overtime to create a program that provides all players equal opportunity to succeed and improve. The CBSC  N.E.S.T.(Nurturing Engaging Sensory Teaching) program helps new, continuing coaches.

Its all too often we run into a problem with not enough coaches for the U5/U6 players. Some parents feel they dont have what it takes. You do, consider this a helping hand!

The goals of the new program are to make training sessions consistent for all players, simplify scheduling, and provide a safe environment for practice and games. The  N.E.S.T. will provides coaching education for those who volunteer to lead sessions and build confidence in you, to continue on in the CBSC recreational program.

The N.E.S.T Program is a great starting point for our youth in the community. If we Nurturing, Engaging, Sensory and Teach everyone from the NEST. The enjoyment of soccer will last through the years!

Gretchen was a four- year starter and letter winner for the Rams. She helped guide the Rams to three state tournament berths, including two state semi- final appearances and was a three-time all-conference performer. Gretchen also played for the Omaha Football Club for seven years and competed in the Midwest Regional League with her Omaha FC team.

After high school, Gretchen went on to play for Minnesota State University- a Division II school located in Mankato, MN. During her three seasons with the Mavericks, Gretchen helped her team to three regular season conference championships, two conference tournament championships, an NCAA Elite 8 appearance and two NCAA Sweet 16 appearances. She went 56- 5- 7 during her three seasons at MSU and earned all- conference academic honors each year. She graduated from MSU with a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
During her time in college, Gretchen had various coaching opportunities. She was a volunteer coach for Mankato United Soccer Club, where she helped train age groups ranging from u5-u17. As a MSU player, she also had the opportunity to coach for ‘Maverick Soccer Academy’, a program that provided a fun and challenging opportunity for younger (u5-u10) players to develop new skills and foster their passion for the game. Gretchen also volunteered with TOP Soccer, a program designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any child who has a mental or physical disability.
Gretchen started coaching with Council Bluffs Soccer Club in the Fall of 2016 where she was an assistant coach for a u12 select team and coached for the CBSC Academy Program.
